GI JOE: Knowing My Review Is Half The Battle

I just took my nephew to see GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra and it has got to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen.  I was looking forward to it since I grew up watching the cartoons and playing with the action figures.  Actually, I have to be completely honest and say that GI Joe was pretty much my childhood.  So, yes this movie was a total stab in the heart from behind as a disappointment to a life-long fan.  I will say that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was great in it and Rachel Nichols too.  I thought Channing Tatum and Marlon Wayans were dreadful to watch.  I almost forgot to mention how awful Sienna Miller was too.  The rest of the cast was stuck in mediocrity.  The special effects were over the top and not believable.  Yes, I know the movie is GI Joe but after a solid decade of fan-boy friendly films like Batman and Iron Man, you'd expect them to follow that formula of finding the balance that wins over the critical along with the commercial aspect.

I will say the worst part of the movie that was the hardest to believe was Jonathan Pryce as the President Of The United States.  He retained his British accent throughout the movie.  It was painful and harder to guy than watching a laser gun blow up a building or a giant base that's under a polar ice cap.

By the way, my nephew loved it.  That's all that really matters.
