Bow-Tie Conservatives

Why does it seem like it's only the conservatives are the ones wearing bow-ties? From George Will to Peter Morici to the next generation of dorks like Tucker Carlson are wearing them to prove their conservative credentials. It's like their own badge of honor. Unless your in a tuxedo at a wedding or a some award gala, wearing a bow-tie is just not cool in any other setting. I know some of these guys attended better colleges than I did and graduated with a much higher GPA but I'm sorry but I just can't take them seriously. Yes, I know in their perfect world, Ronald Reagan would still be President and Steve Forbes would have made a flat tax for all. I know they're trying to expand their movement into a bigger tent but it's tough to follow a group of nerds that hate everybody but their own kind. They all share the look that they need to get their heads slammed against a locker. Most of these guys didn't get their first handjob until their wedding night or somewhere in their mid-20's.

George Will once said that he hates blue jeans and can't take anybody that wears them seriously, but I have to say the felling is mutual for douchebags that wear bow-ties and go on TV shows on debate panels to debate serious issues. Since January 20th, they've been all over every news outlet bashing President Obama on every policy and I think they're just laughable. I know they're all saying that the conservative movement is only growing and they will be the majority by 2012 but I just haven't seen enough bow-ties in the streets to agree with their assessment of the American public.
