Scientology

I recently read a great article in the New York Times about a group of escaped Scientologists that had signed a contract for 1 billion years to dedicate their lives to Scientology. They decided to join the Scientologist navy aka Sea Org, to spread the word about Dianetics from port to port. It turns out while being on the Sea Organization, they had to work 7 days a week, weren't paid all that much and suffered pyschial/mental abuse. Pregnant women are forced to have abortions and not allowed to have contact with family members that are not Scientologists. It doesn't help that Sea Org holds on to all government documents and passports so they can't make it possible for people to defect. Since escaping, they've now been cut off from their family and owe $10,000 to the church which was originally at $40,000 but somehow lowered. It's insane that our government hasn't cracked down on this powerful cult that exploits people.

I've always been disgusted and appalled at this nonsense and I hate it when I find out an actor I like joined this cult. Scientology was created by talentless science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard and he's been able to manipulate A-list Hollywood stars to join his cult. He's been dead for years now but his cult has expanded since. It drives me nuts that people call this cult a religion. I blame the media for doing that one. They should know better and should grow a pair of balls and say they're a cult. It's amazing how many followers they have and how they've managed to get so many rich and famous people to follow them. This fucking cult was created by a science fiction writer whose work sucked! I would understand if people followed someone brilliant like George Lucas or Stan Lee but L. Ron Hubbard is a fucking hack. People are stupid and stupid people breed stupid people. So goes on life.
