Sunday Night Wrap-Up 07/26/09

Here's my recap of my Sunday night watching TV:

-True Blood delivered another great episode.  Actually, this so far has been my favorite episode of the whole series.  It had it all: violence, sex, gore, vampires, Jesus freaks, fucking, dark humor and great plot twists.  I would love to get into more detail about tonight's episode but I don't want to spoil it for people that haven't seen it yet.  E-mail me if you want to further discuss this episode.  I'm still blown away and really excited for next week's episode.

-Hung is proving itself as the sleeper hit of the summer.  Excellent writing and acting.  Thomas Jane is brilliant (read my blog about him below) and Anne Heche is brilliant at playing the typical cunt ex-wife.  Jane Adams was born to play the role of Tanya.  She's the ugly chick that every good-looking guy keeps in his stable of women that they sleep with.  Tanya is ugly but cool enough to deal with so guys keep girls like her around which is a plus when all as fails.  Every time I see her, I can't think of one guy friend that doesn't have his own Tanya.  Even her language and mannerisms is uncanny.  The name Tanya itself speaks to me of sloppy seconds and girls that should only be called at 4 am.  The creators of this show are brilliant.  Quick side note back to Thomas Jane, he's perfect and totally believable as a high school teacher/coach.  I've met plenty of Ray Drecker's during my 4 years in high school.  All former jocks that couldn't make it to the pros that return to the only place that they can feel like a hero and that's their old alma mater.  If you haven't seen Hung yet, then you don't know what you're missing.

-Entourage actually stopped the bleeding tonight with their newest episode.  It's been a dreadful season.  The episode was pretty good and it didn't annoy me like the other episodes have this season.  The plot line involving Turtle is stupid but everything else was pretty good.  Eric's new girlfriend is creepy.  Sometimes she looks hot and other times she creeps me out.  Does she do that for you too?

-I also caught a repeat of Family Guy on Adult Swim.  It was the episode where Meg gets the mumps and finds Jesus.  The best part of that episode is when Brian asks her if there is a God, why would she have a flat chest and a big ass?  Then brings up how she can have a hot mom like Lois but look like Peter?  I just laugh every time I hear that line.

Ok, that's a wrap for me, kids.  Good night.
